"Reimagining the Future: Sunshine's Digital Evolution Journey" sets the foundation for an insight-led, digitally enabled organisation
Sunshine Holdings PLC has launched its Group-wide data, digital and AI transformation journey under the theme "Reimagining the Future: Sunshine's Digital Evolution Journey," marking a major milestone in strengthening the Group's future readiness through smarter decision-making, modern technology and enhanced organisational capability.
Connecting senior leaders from across the Group at an event in Colombo, the initiative reaffirmed Sunshine's ambition to become a more data-driven, digitally enabled and AI-ready organisation. Built around three interconnected pillars; people, processes and technology the transformation aims to embed data into everyday decision-making while building the capabilities needed to create long-term business value.
Addressing the gathering, Sunshine Holdings Group Chief Executive Officer Shyam Sathasivam said, “The future will belong not simply to organisations that invest the most, but to those that learn faster, adapt smoother and make better decisions. Our ambition is to become a data-driven, digitally enabled and AI-ready organisation where insight guides decisions, technology simplifies the way we work, and our people are empowered to create greater value. Success will come from aligning our people, processes and technology behind a shared purpose.”
The launch introduced two key transformation streams. Sunshine will partner with Beyond: Putting Data to Work to lead its organisational readiness programme for data, digital and AI, while Ernst & Young Sri Lanka will support the design and implementation of the Group's enterprise technology architecture and ERP transformation roadmap. Together, these initiatives will establish a more connected, agile and insight-led operating model across the Group.
The leadership engagement featured keynote sessions by Paul Alexander, Chief Executive Officer of Beyond: Putting Data to Work, who explored how organisations can harness data, AI and leadership to drive business outcomes, and Shanaka De Silva, Principal/Partner at Ernst & Young Sri Lanka, who shared insights on leveraging digital transformation and technology to build sustainable competitive advantage.
Group Chief Transformation Officer Infiyaz Ali added, “Digital transformation is not simply about implementing technology. It is about building the capabilities, culture and ways of working that enable better decisions and stronger business outcomes. This journey will help us connect data more effectively, simplify how we work and create practical opportunities for our teams to embrace digital and AI in meaningful ways.”
The session encouraged leaders to take collective ownership of the transformation by turning information into insight, insight into decisions and decisions into action. Following the launch, Beyond will conduct a Group-wide organisational readiness evaluation to identify opportunities and barriers to digital adoption, helping shape a practical roadmap for data, digital and AI enablement.
Through this transformation, Sunshine Holdings continues to invest in the capabilities, platforms and mindset required to build a future-ready organisation while delivering greater value to customers, partners, shareholders and communities.
