Alaris Lanka Pvt Ltd conducted a press conference on the 20^th Jan 2021 explaining to media regarding the false rumours been circulated about their brand “Facia Premium” Mr. Tharanga Lanka Weerawardana, Chairman and the Managing Director of Alaris Group of Companies stated that a false letter baring the letterhead of the National Medicine Regulatory Authority and false signature of Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe who is the CEO of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority stating that the product Facia Premium has been banned has been circulated in some print & social media. In response to this, the CEO of NMRA has denied the issuance of such letter and instructed the Director of The Fraud Investigation Bureau to conduct an investigation on priority basis” Further he stated that this the two newspapers who published this news have immediately corrected the same after contacting the NMRA and Sri Lanka Customs. Further Face book has also taken necessary actions to mark these social media post as “False Information”.

The company further stated "although competitors have tried numerous times to tarnish the  reputation of Alaris Lanka and Facia through the circulation of false & mis-leading facts such as this; Alaris Lanka Pvt Ltd as a responsible institution that has been in the industry for more than 10 years would like to notify their customers and the general public that they will continue to provide high quality and effective products while conducting their business in an ethical and professional manner.”
