US Dollar Rises Sharply Today, Selling Price Crosses Rs. 329

The US Dollar continued its strong upward movement, exerting further pressure on the Sri Lankan Rupee. On May 14, the dollar reached Rs. 323.95, up from Rs. 322.27 recorded the previous day. This is the highest level the dollar has recorded against the rupee since the beginning of 2024.

The buying and selling rates also rose sharply. Yesterday’s rates of Rs. 319.77 (buy) and Rs. 327.38 (sell) increased to Rs. 322.28 and Rs. 329.92 respectively today.

This marks the highest buying rate since December 14, 2023, and the highest selling rate since December 28, 2023.
