With the Strategic Development Projects Act being presented to parliament to be gazette and a rumor that Australian businessman James Packer is currently in Sri Lanka, AdaderanaBiz inquired from Investment Promotions Minister on the veracity of this story.

Investment Promotions Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene responded, “That is an utter lie. James Packer is not in Sri Lanka these days. These are false publicity.”

While the Strategic Development Projects Act was tabled before parliament yesterday (24 April) to be gazetted, it was passed with a majority vote of 71 with 113 voting in favour and 42 against.
