July, 17, 2017

Investigations have been initiated against 20 more officials who had been serving under the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) during the time of the controversial bonds issue affair, say internal sources from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

These sources further added that written explanations have been called fro from these particular officials and they have been informed to respond within this week.

While the CBSL recently took steps to suspend the services of an individual named Saman Kumara involved in the bonds issue with the primary dealer Perpetual Treasuries, he was summoned before the Presidential Commission to inquire into the bonds issue last week.
