Bairaha joins hands with PHIs to conduct training program for small and medium scale hotel and restaurant owners

A training and awareness program for small and medium scale hotel owners in Pallekelle was organized by the Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) by joining hands with Bairaha Farms PLC.

More than 80 individuals representing small, medium scale hotel owners, restaurant owners and cafeteria and bakery owners participated in this event. The key objective of this event was to bring awareness to them of details relating to the Food Act. The training and awareness program was conducted successfully by PHI Mr. Amila Aberathna and PHI Admin Mr. C. N. Dasanayaka.

Public Health Inspector Mr. Amila Aberathna said; “Small and medium scale hotel owners should follow the rules, regulations, best practices and hygienic conditions when they prepare food products, to be served to the general public. As per the Food Act, they are legally required to follow it and comply with the act”.

Public Health Inspector Admin Mr. C. N. Dasanayaka explained about “H 800 Grading Systemwhich is applicable for small as well as for medium scale hotel owners, restaurant owners, cafeteria and bakery owners. “This system provides marks based on some specific criteria such as hygienic conditions of kitchens, cleanliness level of their staff, waste water disposable system and etc,” he added.
