This interactive one day networking workshop will educate professionals to execute effective business networking skills through technological developments

BNI, the largest referral marketing organization in the world, has launched an interactive one day workshop about networking in Sri Lanka. The workshop is scheduled to kick off on the 6th of August, 2016 from 9 am- 6 pm at Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. The workshop will cover many areas of networking and provide insight on how professionals can enhance their visibility and create new opportunities on an individual level and on an organizational level through ideal networking skills. This networking workshop is designed for professionals, entrepreneurs, directors and marketers who want to augment their business through immaculate networking skills. Speaking about this workshop, Brigadier Japana Jayawardena, the trainer and regional director said, “A lot of people tend to think that networking is all about selling yourself. Networking, however, is far more than that. It’s about building relationships and making your company more attractive to people in a way they haven’t realized before. In this one day networking workshop, this is precisely what we do. We help you develop your business”.

Networking is a key feature of a modern workplace which has shaped the way businesses are done. Networking has the potential to develop an individual’s business or career, create new prospects and enhance productivity. Professionals, in particular, should work hard in order to build strong business relationships, increase their network of contact and improve their personal credibility. This workshop is aimed at individuals who want to enjoy the benefits of business connection through networking but are not aware on how to get started. Participants of the workshop will be given valuable insight on the secrets of networking by the resource person, Mr. Prasanna Pathmanathan, a creative entrepreneur, lecturer, trainer and Educational Coordinator of BNI Sri Lanka Pioneer Chapter, who will conduct the workshop in his distinctive interactive and interesting fashion. The program content will cover eight comprehensive topics that include an introduction to business networking, networking tools, grooming and etiquette, communication and personal branding as well as many other key areas.

While networking may sometimes be wrongly overlooked as a basic skill, it is a very important aspect that can give a lasting impression of an individual or a company. Emphasizing on this, Brigadier Japana Jayawardena said “Every entrepreneur or professional will attend social events or gatherings where they will essentially have to mingle with people. Some are uncomfortable in social settings and others don’t have the requisite skills to portray their business and this one day workshop will sharpen any individual’s networking skills and teach them ways in which networking with people will no longer be a tedious job but something that they would enjoy”.

The interactive networking workshop organized by BNI Sri Lanka is targeted towards those who want to gain more confidence in the business networking arena. The course fee is Rs. 8000 per person and Rs 4000 for all BNI members and staff. The fee includes refreshments, lunch and the certificate of participation.
