Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Ceylon Tea

August, 15, 2017

In Sri Lanka, we don’t really expect government organizations to be exciting and tech savvy when it comes to advertising and promotional communication. The Sri Lanka Tea Board, however, has bucked this trend for its campaign celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Ceylon Tea by going digital in a big way.

Not only has the Tea Board taken to digital with gusto – with a dedicated microsite as well as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram pages – but also it has been churning out engaging content. The latest piece to be released by the Tea Board is a sumptuous 90-second digital video that takes viewers on a grand journey through Sri Lanka, the home of Ceylon Tea. Rich in tea motifs, this poetically shot video spans the lush hills of Nuwara Eliya, the serene waters of Arugam Bay, the bustle of Colombo, and a lot more while highlighting the centrality of Ceylon Tea in the everyday life of the country.

The video has already garnered nearly 2 million views on YouTube and is attracting rich praise. Have a look and let us know what you think!
