Ceytea wins big at Sri Lanka National Quality Awards 2014

 Unilever Sri Lanka’s Instant Tea Factory placed No. 1 in "Medium Scale Manufacturing" category 

​Unilever Sri Lanka’s Ceytea Factory in Agarapathana emerged in the No. 1 position in the ‘Medium Scale Manufacturing” category at the Sri Lanka National Quality Awards 2014, presented by the Sri Lanka Standards Institute. The Ceytea team accepted the award at a glittering ceremony held on the 3rd of December.

Speaking about this achievement, Mr. Munish Nandwani, Supply Chain Director at Unilever Sri Lanka, stated, “We are honoured to have received this prestigious recognition. This award is a testament to Unilever’s commitment in providing the best quality products and services to our consumers, through continuous improvement of our systems and processes. Over the last few years, the Ceytea team has undergone a diligent process to ensure secure, high quality operations at the Ceytea factory, and their hard work and perseverance has led to us receiving this recognition at a key national forum”.

The Unilever Ceytea Factory, formally known as Premium Exports Ceylon Limited (PECL), is Unilever’s 'instant tea' factory located in Agarapathana and functions as a strategic unit of the Lipton Ice Tea supply chain, supplying over 70% of the Ready to Drink volumes sourced by Pepsi Lipton International.

Organized and implemented by the Sri Lanka Standards Institute, the Sri Lanka National Quality Awards, recognizes quality excellence in the sectors of manufacturing, services, education and healthcare. Awards are given to small, medium and large scale operations, based on seven key areas such as 'Leadership', 'Strategic Planning', 'Customer Focus', 'Measurement / Analysis / Knowledge Management', 'Workforce Engagement', 'Operational Focus' and 'Results.'
