Colombo’s Grande Dame, the iconic Galle Face Hotel in its continuous efforts to give back to society, lit up the lives of many children this festive season during a grand Christmas celebration at the hotel. A group of 30 children from the World Vision Christian Relief Programme were invited to be part of a happy and memorable afternoon to enjoy great entertainment, delicious goodies and gifts.

The event which is hosted by the Galle Face Hotel annually toward spreading joy and warmth during the season was well received by the children. The afternoon was spent in fun sessions of face painting, balloon making, a spectacular magic show, fun games and the children were later generously bestowed with gifts. The love and care showered upon the children by the Galle Face Hotel team reflected its unwavering pledge to spread the true spirit of Christmas.

Galle Face Hotel, General Manager, Mr. Antony Paton stated, “Christmas is a special season and is the ideal time to think more about helping other people rather than ourselves. The Galle Face Hotel Chairman, Sanjeev Gardiner’s vision is to help all communities, and that is what we strive to do. We have undertaken the opportunity to carry out this children’s programme annually for their benefit. This year we had the good fortune of hosting a big group of children from the ages of 5 to14 years.”

World Vision responds and provides assistance to returned communities to rebuild their lives and to build a sustainable livelihood. World Vision also runs two projects that care for street children as well.
