Dance up close and personal with Closeup

August, 5, 2015

Closeup, Sri Lanka’s No.1 gel toothpaste which connects with today’s high energy lifestyle by assuring a 12 hour fresh breath marathon just right for close encounters, is inviting the youth across the island to join in as it embarks on producing Sri Lanka’s first ever co-created dance music video. Closeup is extending this once in a lifetime invitation as the brand’s vibrant new packaging enters the market.

Set to a specially composed electrifying soundtrack, Closeup has identified four engaging and simple dance moves for the video. Sensational singer, dancer and actor Dushyanth Weeraman and the ravishing Stephanie Siriwadene, Miss Sri Lanka 2011 and Miss Asia Pacific World Sri Lanka 2013 will be demonstrating these steps in a series of clips to be released on the Closeup Sri Lanka Facebook page.

A passion for dance and music is a part of the nation’s youth and Closeup is giving them a platform to exhibit their passion to a wider audience while making history.

“As we well know, dance steps are only one factor of a great routine. The rest lies in the chemistry between the dancers and whether they are in-sync with each other. This innovative co-created dance video that the youth will embark on with Closeup will encourage them to focus on their partner’s energy, movements and emotions in the moment thus creating a close connection between them. This connection is what is important,” said Munazza Rafeek, Brand Manager Closeup at Unilever Sri Lanka.

Closeup will be releasing these moves as a series of videos inviting the youth of Sri Lanka to attempt them with their partner or friend and upload the video to the Closeup Facebook page. By doing this they will stand a chance of winning coffee dates at Barista Lavazza and stays at Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts.

The chosen performances will be featured in Sri Lanka’s first ever co-created dance music video that will be presented by Closeup Sri Lanka to the world. This will mark a significant artistic milestone in Sri Lanka and showcase the young talent that we, as a country, have to the world.

“We conceived this innovative concept by combining the nation’s passion with Closeup’s brand promise of giving people the confidence to have an up close and personal encounter. And just as personal encounters depend on chemistry so does dancing and this is the core theme that runs through Closeup’s dance music video concept,” said Rafeek.
