British business magnet and Billionaire Richard Branson has publicly expressed his concern with regard to the decision made by Sri Lankan President to enforce the death penalty.
“Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena wants to bring back the death penalty in Sri Lanka. I hope he takes a cue from the Maldives president and decides otherwise. Executions can be devastating and are never the solution. The wonderful people of Sri Lanka deserve better than this,” Sir Branson tweeted.
President @MaithripalaS can still back away from the damaging path he has chosen for his country by resuming executions. If he does not, then I hope the international community - governments and businesses alike - will react accordingly. #LKA #LifeNotDeath
