Sri Lanka’s Sathsindu Limited chairman Rohan Abeywickrema joined Ada Derana Biz 24x7 to share his views on the benefits to the tourism industry by developing the tourist passenger shipping services.

Rohan Abeywickrema and his company Sathsindu Limited played a prominent role in the recent arrival of the world’s largest passenger vessel, the super luxury ‘Genting Dream’ to the Colombo port.

Rohan Abeywickrema said that while the ship ‘Genting Dream’ had been docked at the harbour, 1,600 passengers had disembarked in Colombo and another 1,300 had embarked.

While stating that those who had disembarked and embarked the vessel had spent several days in Sri Lanka, Rohan Abeywickrema added that they had spent on various needs like food, hotels etc during their stay in the island.

However, he pointed out that the services and facilities provided in Colombo to these passenger ships were very minimal.
