Five million international tourists by 2025 is very achievable – JKH Chairman

John Keells Holdings PLC Chairman Krishan Balendra is confident that Sri Lanka will meet a target to host a total of 5 million foreign tourists by 2025.

Speaking during the panel discussion, at the Cinnamon Future of Tourism Summit 2019 in Colombo yesterday (23) Balendra noted that Sri Lanka had managed to recover from the Easter attacks faster than anticipated and he believes that “5 million by 2025 is very achievable”.

Balendra also pointed out the continued growth, especially in India, would provide Sri Lanka with more growth opportunities.

 “Tourism will continue to grow and Sri Lanka will be a big beneficiary of the Indian outbound travel explosion.” He said.
