Foreigners pulled out over Rs. 3.9Bn from Government Securities in a week

The latest data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka points out that Foreigners had gradually exited from Sri Lanka’s Government Securities (Treasury Bills and Treasury Bonds) and pulled out over Rs.3.9 billion in a week, during the period from 26 June to 3 July 2019.

The value of Government Securities held by foreigners had fallen from Rs.146.091 billion to Rs. 142,157 billion during the period from 26 June to 3 July 2019.

However During the year up to 05th July 2019 the Sri Lanka rupee appreciated against the US dollar by 3.8%.
