HNB General Insurance (HNBGI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dilshan Perera as Chief Operating Officer (COO). This appointment reinforces the company's commitment to strengthening its leadership pipeline and advancing its strategic transformation agenda in the insurance industry.

Dilshan is an accomplished C-suite senior manager with over 20 years of experience spanning Strategic Management, Digital Transformation, Marketing and Brand Management, Sales Management, Business Development, and Customer Experience Management. His diverse career spans the Life Insurance, General Insurance, Telecommunications, Banking, and Retail sectors, equipping him with a broad and dynamic perspective on business leadership.

Prior to this appointment, Dilshan completed a successful three-year tenure as Chief Transformation Officer at HNB General Insurance. In this role, he played a pivotal part in driving the company's business transformation journey, integrating innovative technologies and customer-centric strategies to shape a future-ready insurance enterprise. His earlier leadership positions include Head of InsurTech – Group Digital Services at Dialog Axiata PLC, Co-Founder of InsureMe.lk (Sri Lanka's first insurance comparison platform), and Head of Marketing at HNB Assurance PLC. He has also held management roles at DFCC Bank and Ceylinco Life.

Dilshan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM – UK), a Life Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, and a Member of the Institute of Management Sri Lanka. He holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) Special Degree from the University of Kelaniya, and a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM – UK. He has also completed an Agency Management Training Course (AMTC) with LIMRA International, USA. Mr. Perera is an alumnus of De Mazenod College, Kandana, and serves as a visiting lecturer at several leading higher educational institutions in Sri Lanka.
