Browns Hotels & Resorts unveiled their refined wine menu with a novel concept called “Live. Love. Wine” across all properties in October 2023, offering dedicated pairings and tastings to elevate the guest experience. In keeping with this promise, Thaala Bentota by Browns Hotels & Resorts hosted an exclusive Valentine's Day wine tasting and pairing dinner accompanied with sunset serenades by the beautiful Bentota beach.
Executive Chef Nalaka Dinendra crafted an exquisite six-course menu, blending innovative dishes with local flavours, spotlighting Bentota's renowned fresh seafood. Guests savoured the seamless pairing of white wines with succulent prawns and grilled fish, while robust red wines perfectly complemented dishes such as lamb chops and more. The evening culminated in indulgent chocolate domes paired with exquisite dessert wines, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.
Enthusiastic guests, including wine connoisseurs and sommeliers, embarked on a sensory journey, savouring the diverse flavours of wines hailing from Australia, France, South Africa, New Zealand, and California with a presentation and a leisurely discussion with a renowned wine aficionado. Under the guidance of Channa Ekanayake, the General Manager of Thaala Bentota, every aspect of the event was meticulously curated, enhancing the allure of the night.
Amidst smooth jazz and charming Valentine's Day décor, guests basked in the twilight glow, enchanted by a fireworks spectacle on the beach. This Valentine's edition of “Live. Love. Wine” celebrated the fine art of wine, culinary mastery and the captivating charm of Thaala Bentota.
