Continuing to work closely with the Payment Card Industry Association of Sri Lanka (PCIASL), MasterCard offered its support as the main sponsor of PCIASL’s first gala fellowship evening. Over 600 decision-makers from the various banks and other stakeholder entities attended the event held recently at the Eagles' Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall.

In the presence of a wide cross-section of the payment card community, MasterCard showcased a broad spectrum of its innovative payment solutions that seamlessly connect banks, merchants and cardholders in over 200 countries across the world.

Having worked closely with the PCIASL over the years, it gives us great pleasure to sponsor this unique event. At MasterCard, we are passionate about innovation, and the ability to make safe, simple and smart payments solutions available to consumers. We would not be able to do this without the strong support from our industry partners in Sri Lanka. I would like to congratulate PCIASL’s organizing committee for this wonderful evening,” said Mr. Vikas Varma, Area Head, South Asia, MasterCard.

Over the 25 years that we have been in Sri Lanka, we have seen the market continuously evolve and progress. Given the strong development indicators, we believe that the market is ready to realise the true potential of electronic payment solutions,” Mr Varma added.

Sri Lanka is a key market for MasterCard in the South Asian region, and it has rolled out several country specific initiatives. Working closely with its bank and merchant partners, it strives to provide world-class secure payment solutions and offerings to local customers.
