Nestlé Lanka and Ministry of Education of Maldives sign MoU to empower young talent development in Maldives

Nestlé Lanka and the Ministry of Education of Maldives signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to empower young talent development in the Maldives via Nestlé’s popular energy brand Milo.

The MoU entails Nestlé working in partnership with the Ministry of Education to host and conduct the ‘Milo School Awards Night’, an event held annually to recognise and award students who have performed exceptionally in their academics and sports in the Maldives.

With a dominant presence in the Republic of Maldives since the 1970’s, Milo has maintained a strong and deep-rooted brand presence over the years, making its mark in the island as the most preferred chocolate malt drink amongst children and youth. Milo’s credentials as a drink that stimulates energy and vitality was further cemented via its extensive involvement in national sports activities over the years, creating a direct and strong link between sports and Milo across the Maldives.

Hon. Dr. Aishath Shiham, Minister of Education for the Republic of Maldives commenting on the collaboration said, “Milo’s presence in the Maldives has had significant impact on the local community over the years, winning the hearts of the people via an intimate and consistent engagement. We hope that this partnership with Nestlé will help us highlight young Maldivian talent whilst creating a platform for these skilled individuals to gain well deserved recognition both nationally and beyond.”
