The Highways and Investment Promotion Ministry is preparing to identify and develop the projects that should receive more prominence under the already identified roads planned to be developed by the former government under a USD 100 million loan from the China Development Bank.

Accordingly, the ministry has decided to instead identify the roads which should receive more prominence among those already identified for development under this project and develop them instead.

The government has stated that the Tangalle-Weeraketiya and Weeraketiya-Middeniya roads are already being developed under this project.
