March, 2, 2016

New Zealand company Patton Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with one of Sri Lanka’s largest air conditioning and refrigeration company Frostaire Limited.

The MoU outlines an agreement for the sole distribution of Patton brand of evaporators and condensing units for cold room applications in the Sri Lankan market.

Like New Zealand, Sri Lanka is an agricultural-based economy and needs state-of-the-art technology in the field of commercial refrigeration. With more than 90 years of experience in design, manufacturing and distribution of cold room equipment, Patton Limited is an ideal partner for Frostaire Limited.

Patton Limited Chief Executive Sameer Handa says the company is pleased to be entering this agreement with Frostaire Industries. “This MoU is an important step towards Patton’s vision of delivering world-leading refrigeration solutions through offering smart technology and building a strong network of suppliers, customers and service contractors.

“We are looking forward to working with Frostaire in Sri Lanka as we continue to focus on this important part of the world.” We plan to service this market through our offices and factories in India and Thailand.

The signing of the MoU was witnessed at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce by New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and Hon. Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremasinghe.

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, accompanied by a senior business delegation, is currently in Sri Lanka to reinforce the growing economic ties and commercial initiatives underway between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Two-way trade between New Zealand and Sri Lanka was worth $324 million last year.
