PickMe provides Passenger Security with ‘ETA Sharing’

December, 3, 2015

New technology creates opportunity to provide secure environments for users, and PickMe’s latest addition to their app ‘ETA sharing’ allows passengers to share their trip details with a loved one so that their whereabouts can be closely monitored at any given time.  Through this extension to the PickMe app, the company would be providing added security to their passengers, and peace of mind for their family members.   ‘ETA sharing’ is especially useful for lone lady travellers, young adults and those riding cabs at night.

PickMe, a mobile taxi hailing service provider, is fast continuing to extend their network around Colombo and its suburbs, adding new and better extensions to their innovative mobile application.  Some of the recent additions to the app are ‘book later’ which allows users to reserve a cab for a later time; and ‘PickMe Business’ for enterprises.  With the ‘PickMe Business’ business portal added PickMe's service menu, the technology would ease transport administration of businesses on a major scale.

PickMe Business is a software similar to the PickMe App but customized to cater to specific operational requirements of businesses that handle transportation of employees or guests. PickMe Business can be operated on any smart device - mobile phones, tablets, or PCs and helps businesses manage everything from allocating taxis for staff/guest transportation and automatic billing to cutting down on administration and operational costs related to transport.

While these new features provide passengers and business with ease of travel, less administration hassles and security, PickMe is continuing to work on a host of new features to add to their app, with a view to providing the best possible service to their passengers as well as their driver network.

Jiffry Zulfer, CEO of PickMe says, “Building the PickMe app was merely the beginning.  We have harnessed some of the best techno brains in the industry as part of our team and they are working on some great innovations to make PickMe the most sought after way of hailing a cab in Sri Lanka.  Our latest addition ‘ETA Sharing’ is to give our passengers as well as their families that extra level of security and we will add several more exciting features to PickMe in the near future.”

Currently ‘PickMe’ has grown their taxi network, to offer a choice of vehicles from three wheelers (tuks) to mini cabs, luxury cars and even vans if there is a need for group travel.  PickMe also ensures that their driver network has a good track record as well as thorough training in driver etiquette.

Sri Lanka’s very own start up, ‘PickMe’ is a software solution developed on the Android, iOS and Windows platforms using GPS satellite and GIS technology, customised to meet local needs.  The App, which can be downloaded to almost any smart phone, uses GPS navigation, which allows drivers to provide passengers with the shortest possible routs. Rides can be hailed from anywhere in Colombo or close suburbs any time of day or night.
