Presidential Export Awards on August 9

The 20th Presidential Export Awards Ceremony will be held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena will be held on August 9 at 3 p.m. at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).

Organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) the ceremony will recognize and honor the exporters for their excellence in the years 2014 and 2015. The awards symbolize the national recognition of the exporters, particularly in non-traditional products and services.

A total of 113 awards will be given under the categories of (special overall) and sectoral. The 20 Special (overall) awards will be given away by President Maithripala Sirisena.

Highest foreign Exchange earner and Highest value added exporter are the two main categories in the sectoral awards. Exporters in these two main categories engaged in the export of product and service sectors will be saluted.

Initiated by EDB in 1981 it is the most prestigious award for exports in Sri Lanka and is presented to exporters who have made a significant contribution to Sri Lanka’s exports.
