Sri Lanka Railway Department has received approval to procure 5,000 steel rails for a sum of US$ 2,320,230 in near future.

Hence, The proposal made by the Minister of Transport & Civil Aviation to award the contract for the procurement of 5,000 EN 45E1 Rails (45'00") of R 260-EN 13674 to M/s Angang Group International Panzhihua Co. Ltd. for a sum of US$ 2,320,230 on the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
