Sampath Bank PLC today marked a significant milestone in its growth journey with the official opening of its Colombo Port City Branch, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Sri Lanka's emergence as a globally connected financial and investment destination. The opening ceremony was attended by the Sampath Bank Board of Directors, Corporate Management, representatives of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission (CPCEC), Directors from CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, customers, and other distinguished guests.

The opening of Sampath Bank’s Colombo Port City Branch also marked the first-ever banking transaction within the development, representing another milestone in the evolution of Sri Lanka’s emerging international financial hub.

Located at Building 1 of the Business Centre, Commercial Hub, Port City Colombo, the branch strengthens Sampath Bank's presence within Sri Lanka's first multi-services Special Economic Zone and positions the Bank among the first financial institutions to establish a branch within the development.

The opening builds on Sampath Bank's early operational presence following the deployment of a Cash Recycler Machine (CRM) at The Mall at Port City Colombo in 2025, which established the zone's first banking access points for withdrawal and deposit services.

Customers also benefit from integrated self-service banking facilities at the newly opened branch, including CRM services, enabling convenient cash withdrawals, deposits, and day-to-day banking transactions within the Port City Colombo ecosystem.
