The much awaited  South Asian Travel Awards  2017 (SATA) announced the winners at a  grand Gala event held at Equator Village, in Addu City,  Maldives on 28th November  2017.

 

Sri Lanka won categories of Leading Surfing Designations while  Maldives bagged awards for Leading Honeymoon, Leading Diving and Leading Beach Award. India won in the  Leading Heritage, Leading MICE Destinations, and Nepal took the Leading Adventure Destination categories.

 

Sri Lankan Airlines won the  Year’s leading international airline and Leading Airline class. The Leading New International Airline was won by Himalaya Airlines. Spice Jet earned the Leading Low cost carrier award. The Leading Airport lounge was taken by by Leeli Lounge, Velana International Airport, Maldives.

 

 

Announcing the winners of over 40 categories from over 400 nominations which was a record entry this year.  Gold Winners received the South Asia Awards while the Silver was given to the winners of the respective destination.

 

SATA Founder and President Ismail Hameed announced the venue of the  SATA 2018 would be held in India.

 

The night ended with the Cultural a cultural music show under the starry skies the exotic Equator Village, Addu City, Maldives celebrating the best of South Asian Hospitality. SATA GALA and Awards being telecasted and webcasted Live on MaldivesTV and PSM News was being watched by thousand worldwide with media coverage from multiple nationalities and international news agencies.
