SATL’s ‘CIO Weekend Forum’, a great success

South Asian Technologies Pvt Ltd (SATL), Sri Lanka’s leading IT solutions provider, recently held its much looked forward to, annual CIO Weekend Forum at Centara Ceysands, Aluthgama. 

Nearly 60 Chief Information Officers and Heads of IT from leading corporates including the Telco, BFSI and the IT industry, as well as a few CEOs from Systems Integrations organisations from took part in this weekend event together with their spouses and children thus giving the entire experience a totally different, ‘away-from-home’ and ‘away-from-office’ dimension.

This power packed event was attended by several of SATL’s foreign principals. In a very interesting forum discussion on “Threats faced by today’s CIO”, they shared their expertise and knowhow with the numerous participants.

Among the foreign principals were Allan Campbell (Vice President Sales, APAC,  Vision Corporation), Eric Hoh (Vice President, Sales for Asia South and Korea, Symantec Software Solutions), Bhaskar Bhakthavatsalu (Regional Director, Check Point Software Technologies), Colin Tan (Managing Director, ASEAN Emerging Markets, Hitachi Data Systems) and Jagdish Mahapatra (Managing Director, India & SAARC, McAfee).

A notable feature of this second CIO Weekend Forum was the interactive and invaluable networking which took place in a totally out-of-office and stress-free atmosphere.

In the sidelines of this CIO Weekend Forum were also special fun-filled activities organised for the participants’ spouses and children.

Commenting on the wide ranging success of this now much-awaited event, CEO of South Asian Technologies Pvt. Ltd Sanjaya Padmaperuma said, “The underlying rationale behind this annual exercise is to bring as many CIOs and Heads of IT as possible together under the same roof and engage in a sharing of knowledge, expertise and know-how. The very fact that this takes place away from the stress of office and the pressures of home, contributes immensely to the success of the entire exercise. The feedback we have got from the participants is very promising and it spurs us to ensure that this event is held on a larger scale next year.”
