Speaking at the press briefing held at Lanka Hospitals, Hon. Minister of Health of Seychelles said, “The Seychelles Government and the people of Seychelles are delighted to have established consensual relations with Sri Lanka and we are eagerly exploring mutual areas of interest in which both governments and the people of both countries could benefit. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and I found the people and most importantly the President of Sri Lanka to be quite friendly and courteous. It’s truly a reflection of great leadership that is showcased in the people of Sri Lanka. The government and the people of Seychelles have the utmost confidence in the capability of the healthcare sector in Sri Lanka and we look forward to forging greater mutual ties in the days ahead.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals, Dr. Lakith Peiris commented, “We are privileged to welcome the Hon. Minister of Health for Seychelles, Ms. Mitcy Larue in Sri Lanka making it a  defining moment for the future of Sri Lanka’s medical tourism. Lanka Hospitals has had the good fortune to commence a fruitful interaction with Seychelles by way of extending our superior medical care and facilities to touch the lives of over 150 people from Seychelles and provided them with the best possible clinical outcome. The hospital is already the key medical destination for the people of Maldives, as we treat a large number of Maldivian patients annually. We are extremely focused on the Seychelles and intend to leverage on our many outstanding and world-class medical and patient care services to serve the people there. Lanka Hospitals is already leading the healthcare sector in Sri Lanka in terms of medical excellence and other clinical outcomes.”

The Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Health Care Agency, Dr. Suresh Menon was also present on the occasion stated, “I am highly taken up with the scope of Lanka Hospital’s medical and patient care facilities, the positive clinical outcomes and quality control systems. I have known about the existence of Lanka Hospitals since its inception as Apollo, back in the day. The standards maintained over the years at Lanka Hospitals has been impressive and I have closely followed the infrastructure development of Lanka Hospitals throughout the years. I don’t see why we have to send patients to Singapore when we could send them to Sri Lanka which has institutions that maintain the highest quality standards in medical services and patient care. ”

Lanka Hospitals has revolutionized the healthcare industry in Sri Lanka through infrastructure development and advancement of its product and services through sizeable investments, with a view to delivering healthcare that is on par with global developments in medical technology. The hospital’s recently opened laboratory is the only one of its kind in Sri Lanka to offer advanced diagnostic testing hitherto unavailable in the country. Lanka Hospitals is the only hospital in Asia and Asia Pacific rim to receive the ‘world class’ Global Performance Excellence Award 2013 presented by Asia Pacific Quality Organization. This major award paved the way for Lanka Hospitals to go beyond Sri Lanka’s shores and into the global healthcare arena, empowering it to benchmarked against the best in the world.
