Sri Lankan diplomat Dhanapala gets senior advisory post in Maithri government

Sri Lanka’s renowned diplomat Dr. Jayantha Dhanapala has been appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena as his Senior Advisor on Foreign Relations, say sources.

Dr. Dhanapala who was handpicked by former UN Secretary General Kofi Anan as the Under Secretary General to re-establish the Department of Disarmament was also the one time Ambassador for Sri Lanka in the United States.

Meanwhile he also is a member in the Board of Directors with Cargills Ceylon Limited and Dialog Axiata.
