Suzuki Celerio skyrockets by Rs. 140,000: All cars from AMW face price increase

While there was a huge response to our report on price increases of motor vehicles following the depreciation of the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar, Associated Motorways Limited (AMW) which markets the popular Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Celerio, Suzuki Swift and Alto k 10 motor vehicles revealed in detail the increase in prices.

A senior official from AMW told adaderanabiz.lk that under the latest situation the price of a Suzuki Alto motorcar would increase by Rs. 100,000. The former rice of this car was Rs. 1,425,000 and the new price is Rs. 1,525,000.

Meanwhile, the price of a Suzuki Celerio has gone up by Rs. 140,000. This car which cost Rs. 2,355,000 earlier is now priced at Rs. 2,495,000, said the official.

The Indian made Suzuki Swift has increased in price by Rs. 120,000 while the former price was 2,940,000 and the new price is Rs. 3,060,000.

The price of a K 10 auto gear motorcar has increased by Rs. 85,000 and the new price is Rs. 2,185,000 whereas the former price was Rs. 2,100,000.

Meanwhile, the price of an ordinary K 10 which was Rs. 1,825,000 earlier has now increased by Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 1,895,000, according to the official.

The AMW official said that however the company has earlier stocks of K 10 auto gear motorcars in hand and that they would be sold at the earlier prices.

Apart from the Sri Lankan Rupee depreciating, the Indian parent company also increasing the prices has impacted the fluctuation, added the AMW official.
