Airtel Sri Lanka, as part of their initiative in providing an unmatched digital experience to its valuable customer, will bring the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to the mobile phone. Airtel, in partnership with Channel Eye, Sri Lanka`s Official Broadcaster for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, will live-stream the entire series through the ‘My Airtel’ app.
The common saying is, ‘Cricket is not a sport, it’s a religion’. The sport is followed by many, loved by all irrespective of the religion and race. Watching a cricket match is equivalent to a block-buster movie premier in the island-nation. Where ever you are, be it in the public transport travelling, on the road waiting, up on a mountain taking a hike, everyone will take a minute to tune in to the cricket match and expect uninterrupted viewing.
Bharti Airtel Lanka CEO/MD Jinesh Hegde, speaking about the service said, “We know how important cricket is to all Sri Lankans. It is our duty as Sri Lanka`s preferred internet provider to create the opportunity for all Sri Lankan’s to be a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and support our Lions. As such, we have decided to take the game to our valuable customer’s finger-tips, making it accessible from anywhere. The service is subscription free and one click away for everyone.”
The ‘My Airtel’ app is a free customer service app accessible by all Airtel subscribers in Sri Lanka. ‘My Airtel’ has consistently strived towards understanding a customer’s content consumption and making it easily accessible for them. The app currently provides free access to movies and music to both its prepaid and postpaid users. In addition to quick access to account balances and subscription, through ‘My Airtel’ customers can connect with the Airtel Customer Service team for quick solutions. Customers can download the application by simply logging into www.airtel.lk or visiting their device app store.
