The 2022 Beijing winter Olympics is about to start in China. An academic symposium on the ancient relations between the Chinese and Greek civilizations was held at Beijing Sport University in Beijing on January 1, 2022, titled “Civilization, Peace and Friendship" to mark the 50^th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (in the 20^th century) between the two great civilizations of the ancient world – Great China and Greece. According to symposium sources the event was jointly organized by the Department of Literature and History at the Chinese Academy of Governance, the Center for Classical Civilization at Renmin University of China, Beijing Sport University and the Civilization Magazine.

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou in a letter addressed to the participants and organizers had stated that "Every effort to support, disseminate and develop the Olympic values is not only praiseworthy but also crucial". The Greek president has also praised the restoration of the ancient Greek Olympic Truce Agreement which according to her demonstrates the need to establish world peace using the Olympics. At the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York in early December, 2021, the Beijing Winter Olympic truce resolution draft was adopted by China and the International Olympic Committee. The document which was titled "Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal" has been adopted by consensus and is co-sponsored by 173 member states of the UN while agreeing on conflict resolution through peaceful and diplomatic approaches.

This resolution was in line with the ancient traditions of western civilization. Any country refusing to sign this is actually a departing from this tradition and the humanistic values ​​of Olympic peace and friendship (Ref. Symposium sources). The resolution demanded the signatories in observing the tradition of the Olympic Truce from seven days prior to 2022 winter Olympics begin and seven days after the Paralympic Games to be held in Beijing (i.e. March 13, 2022). The USA which occupied Afghanistan with its allies such as Australia has decided to boycott Beijing winter Olympics along with Australia. It is also know fact that China was not given the opportunity to host 2000 summer Olympics as it was the dawn of the millennium. Instead Australia was given that opportunity to host the event in Sydney. It seems that many are worried about China taking over the next millennium jointly with other ancient civilizations. It seems to be what is happening at ground level.
