Barista Coffee Lanka (Pvt) Ltd proudly marked a significant milestone in its journey of education, training, and professional development by successfully conducting its first-ever NVQ Level 4 Graduation Ceremony – 1st Batch on 22nd September 2026 at the RNH Auditorium. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of 17 graduates who successfully completed the NVQ Level 4 programme.

The journey began in 2021, when Barista Coffee Lanka introduced the Barista Certificate Level Programme with the vision of providing aspiring hospitality professionals with industry-relevant knowledge, practical skills, and opportunities to build successful careers. Through continuous development, the programme achieved NVQ Level 3 recognition within one and a half years, followed by NVQ Level 4 recognition within the subsequent two years as a nationally recognized qualification.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the dedication and collaboration of students, trainers, lecturers, assessors, management, supporting teams, and vocational education authorities. Barista Coffee Lanka sincerely appreciates everyone who contributed to transforming the initial programme into a nationally recognized NVQ Level 4 qualification.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the distinguished officials from TVEC and the National Youth Corps for their valuable support and continued contribution to the development of this programme. Our special thanks go to Dr. K. A. Lalithadheera, Director General, TVEC; Dr. Ajith Polwatta, Deputy Director General; and T. Senthuran, Director, TVEC. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to B. A. Gamini Wikramapala, Director, National Youth Corps; Saman Kulasooriya, Additional Director (Training & Development); R. N. The event was also graced by the Barista Coffee Lanka Management Team, including Imran Akbarally – Managing Director, and Dilupa Pathirana – Chief Executive Officer / Director. Their leadership, guidance, and continuous support have played an important role in the growth and success of the Institute.

The programme is offered completely free of charge, enabling students to gain professional training and a nationally recognized qualification without course fees. Furthermore, students who successfully complete the programme are provided with job opportunities to join Barista Coffee Lanka, creating a meaningful pathway from education to employment. The programme has maintained a 100% training completion and passing rate, reflecting the commitment of both the Institute and its students.
