Sri Lanka’s Department of Pensions highlights that the number of pensioner community who getting a pension from the Department of Pensions were 600,867 as at the end of 2017.

It is 3.6 % increase relatively to the year 2016 the latest annual review of the Department of Pensions notes.

The data further notes that over Rs. 181 billion has been paid for pensioners during the year 2017.
